Love and Charity

Updated: Jun 19, 2023

As I learn more about how the universal law works I have come to understand that Love is a natural emotion and feeling that comes from the divine light within all of us.

You may recall the I Corinthians 13:4-8

Here is how it is written from an old family Bible from the 1700's: Now in this Bible here is how Corinthians chapter XIII Reads, this may surprise you and enlighten you.

1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass or sinking cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. 4 Charity sufferers long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself; is not puffed up, 5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seekers not her owns not easily provoked, thinkers no evil; 6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; 7 Beareth all things, believers all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. 8 Charity never fail: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. 9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part; 10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

11 When I was a child, I spake as a child; I understood as a child; I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put ways childish things. 12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. 13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three but the greatest of the is charity.

Chapter XIV1 Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts; rather that y may prophesy, 2 for he that speaketh in an unknown tougue speaketh not unto men but unto God: for no man understandeth him: howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

Reading the original scripture shows us how many changes have been made in the Bibles of today as this is completely different from what we have been shown in current Bibles or even in the King James Version. You begin to realize that the words have been changed to suit whomever changed them. This scripture speaks of charity.

Our world today misbecoming more divided, coming down to the rich and the poor and there is less charity than ever. I am sharing this with you so that you may have true understanding of what is truly important., charity. We must give of ourselves without expecting anything in return.

The definition of charity as Webster see it reads like this: The Voluntary giving of help, typically in the from of money, to those in need.

My definition is give to whoever needs help and expect nothing in return.

As the world seems to be waking up to what is truly important I feel charity is something we need to remember and begin to give when we are able.

I am not sure sometimes what charity to give to so I follow my heart when I give. The charity maybe I the form of money, driving an elderly person to the doctor or just checking in on your neighbors, its giving of yourself, your time, your love.

Blessings
